How these are put together
Nothing here starts from another outlet's copy. Each story starts from a document on a public register - a planning application, a set of council accounts, a filing at Companies House, a notice in The Gazette - and every factual claim in it traces back to one, listed and linked at the foot of the page.
Software does the watching. It reads the eleven borough planning registers and flags what looks worth a look, which is a way of noticing things, not a way of writing about them. A person reads the documents and writes the piece.
